Southern Region Venturing

The continuing success of Venturing across America depends upon the program skill and enthusiasm of volunteer adult leaders. Venturing leadership training is designed to provide all youth and adult leaders with a series of simple but effective training opportunities that will meet the varying needs of Venturing leaders.

New Crew Fast Start	This video explains the Venturing program and details the leadership roles of crew Advisors and Venturing youth officers. (AV-03V013)
Venturing Leader Specific Training	This training is designed to be used by a district or council to introduce adult Venturing crew leaders to the basic information needed to operate a crew. (334991C)
Youth Protection Guidelines	This training for Venturing leaders provides an overview of the developmental transistions experienced by young people and helps to ensure that crews conduct their programs with the personal safety of crew members in mind. (AV-03V014)
Youth Protection: Personal Safety Awareness	This videopresentation for any young person in the 14-20 age range deals with the issues of acquaintance rape, internet safety, and peer sexual harassement. (AV-09V027)

Sea Scout Officers' Specialized Training	This training introduces adult Sea Scout officers to the Sea Scout Manual, and other program reference materials.

Safe Swim Defense	Before a BSA group may engage in swimming activities of any kind, a minimum of one adult leader must complete Safe Swim Defense training. more information
Safety Afloat	Safety Afloat has been developed to promote boating and boating safety and to set standards for safe unit activity afloat. more information
Climb On Safely	Climb On Safely is the Boy Scouts of America's recommended procedure for organizing BSA climbing/rappelling activities at a natural site or a specifically designed facility such as a climbing wall or tower. more information
